1 in 6 people in America face hunger.
50.1 million Americans struggle to put food on the table.
In the US, hunger isn’t caused by a lack of food, but rather the continued prevalence of poverty.
Help us contribute to ending this!
What do we do?
Our Vanway team is holding their annual Canned Good Drive and Coat Drive. Over the years we’ve collected hundreds of pounds of food and many coats and jackets to be distributed among the communities we serve. This year we hope to be able to provide food and coats for even more people! Our canned good drive began in October and will continue through November, while our coat drive, which also began in October, will run through January.
Where does it go?
The donations we receive will be given to our local Salvation Army, Neighbors in Need and the Lowell Food Bank for distribution to community members in need. The Salvation Army serves 60 million meals to anyone in need through its many soup kitchens, sit-down meal programs, food pantries, mobile meals and community gardens. Neighbors in Need has fed the poor and hungry of greater Lawrence for 30 years. The Lowell Food Bank has been transporting, storing and distributing food to disadvantaged members in the community since 1991.
