Residents and Colleagues of American Training’s Specialized Housing Branch are proud of our track record of giving back to the community. Over the past two months, we’ve contributed in many heartwarming ways.
In August, we raised $500 to help the family of a beautiful child with Mitochondrial disease. We were able to meet Riley and her father, who told us a story of the challenges Riley faces and the dedication, love and hope of her family.
Davis Road Resident Mary Anne Lippold said, “I had a lot of fun helping Riley. She is so cute and sweet!” This was truly a lesson in living out American Training’s mission of “Bringing out the Best in Everyone we Touch… Because Life Matters!”
Then in September, for National Thank You Day, Residents wrote Thank You notes to people who have touched their lives in a positive way. Many of the recipients of these notes told us how encouraged they felt when they read the kind words in the cards.
Another way we gave back to the community was through organizing a food drive. Last month, our Residents and Colleagues collected dry goods and canned foods to donate to Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, continuing the American Training tradition of “see a need, fill a need.”
