North of Boston Business magazine recently announced their 40 Under 40 in their latest issue. And weren’t we just thrilled when we recognized three friendly faces on the list!
Congratulations to our Colleagues Hiedi Keefer, Kaitlin MacDonald, and Renee Ghembaza who were named to the list of “youngbloods” and change makers. Read all three of their profiles from the magazine here. And get to know Hiedi a little more in our 40 Under 40 feature below.
Hiedi is our Assistant Director of Specialized Housing and one of our funniest Colleagues! Read her profile and her exclusive interview with us below!
How does it feel to be named to the 40 Under 40? I feel honored that I was even nominated. And to be selected and recognized by my peers and so many other people in the business community and elsewhere is truly humbling.
What has the response been like? I have received such positive congratulatory remarks from so many of my Colleagues, family members, and friends, whether it be in an email, a Facebook comment, or in person. It really warms my heart to have so many people take time out of their day to acknowledge this achievement. I recently received a call from one of our Partners Dennis Conlin from Conlin’s Pharmacy and the first thing he did was congratulate me. That meant a lot.
What is one thing you’d like readers to know about you that wasn’t covered in your profile? I have managed to have a unique encounter with just about every single animal in the animal kingdom. To name a few: a raccoon ransacking my apartment while I locked myself in my bathroom, being attacked by a flock of wild turkeys while trying to get into my car, and having a bird fly out of a shrub and get stuck in my hair, ripping my hair out as it flapped it’s wings trying to get away.
What stood out in your fellow 40 Under 40 Colleagues’ profiles? I loved learning that Renee organizes donations for refugees. That is really Awesome! And, it was cool to learn that Kaitlin has always wanted to learn how to play a musical instrument. I myself have dabbled with the drums and love playing. I no longer have the drum set and have a lot to learn, but I think Kaitlin and I should take some lessons and, maybe, someday start an ATI band!!
What was your favorite part of your profile? I think the section on giving back. It reminded me of the different ways that I was able to help others over the past year or so and encourages me to continue to find ways to give back to the community.
What is your favorite part of your job? I love that I am constantly challenged. Different things come up everyday which causes me to learn and grow. I love that I have the opportunity to be creative in my position and help create WOW! Magic moments for Residents, Guests and Colleagues.
What is your advice for others? Always be proud of who you are and everything that you’ve accomplished in your life thus far. Keep challenging yourself and you will achieve even more. Be prepared to make mistakes along the way and to learn from them. Every chance you get, do your best to help someone out and make them smile.
